Spiritual counseling is an all encompassing approach to growth and healing. Spirituality is not defined by religion, rather it is the overarching practice of delving into consciousness and that which is beyond the physical. While individualized services can incorporate aspects of a client’s particular religious beliefs, the spiritual explorations offered apply to all and are not exclusionary. Spiritual counselors differ from mental health professionals and are not licensed to diagnose psychological disorders. Instead, the focus is on holistic healing through a variety of services, traditional and otherwise. Combining intuition and logic together in tandem, spiritual counseling can offer invaluable insights into the self and provide deeper meaning to life, humanity, and the universe at large. It shows us the interconnectedness of all and explores the true depth of our lived experiences.
